Benson is a distinguished leader renowned for his exceptional ability to build companies. He possesses a remarkable talent for identifying lucrative deals and advantageous opportunities, while consistently driving substantial growth in enterprise value for the companies under his stewardship.
With over three decades of comprehensive financial expertise, Benson embarked on his illustrious career at Standard Chartered Bank. In 2005, he ventured into Private Equity by founding CK Capital Management, where he orchestrated a series of highly profitable business acquisitions leading to the company’s subsequent listing on various stock exchanges.
At present, Benson is the founding partner of Candid Capital Management Pte Ltd – an investment management firm headquartered in Singapore with a specialised focus on the Asian market.
In his role as the Board Chairman of Phaos Technology, Benson oversees the company’s overarching strategic trajectory, ensuring the sustained prosperity and expansion of Phaos in the long term.

Tay Beng Boon is our Chief Operation Officer, responsible for driving operational efficiency, product research and development and services within the company. Beng Boon has more than 25 years of engineering expertise in industries such as semiconductor, heavy industry, water, energy, waste industry and clean technology. He is known for building high performing teams, driving strategy and technology transformations over the course of his career.
Prior to joining Phaos, Beng Boon founded a start-up in the heavy industry, wastewater treatment, and clean technology industry. Under his leadership, he led the company to achieve an annual turnover of S$35 Million.
Tay holds a Bachelor of Engineering in B-tech Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Gan Hong Loon serves as Phaos Technology’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the overall financial functions that encompass corporate finance, accounting and investor relations responsibilities. Hong Loon brings more than 15 years of corporate experience across the financial and technology industry. Previously, Hong Loon has built high performing teams and successfully led operations at large scale companies.
Prior to Phaos, Hong Loon was a banker with Deutsche Bank and MUFG, specialising in complex transactions across the Asia Pacific region. Subsequently, he joined an India-focused family office and boutique advisory firm where clients included private equity funds, venture capitalists, and ultra-high net worth individuals.
Hong Loon is a serial entrepreneur and is known for his strong business acumen. He consults and manages a diverse portfolio of companies, ranging from technology companies to physical commodities traders and currently serves on their board of directors.
Hong Loon received his Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Registered Management Consultant (RMC) in Singapore.

His many accreditations include: Fellow of Optical Society of America (OSA); Fellow of International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE); Founding Fellow and Secretary General of International Academy of Photonics and Laser Engineering (IAPLE); Simon Industrial and Professional Fellow, the University of Manchester, UK; Guest Professor of Zhejiang University, University of Science & Technology of China, and Nanjing University of Technology; and Visiting Professor of Institute of Optoelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
